Baby Boy Star & Moon Themed Nursery

I am SO excited to share my son’s baby boy star and moon themed nursery with all of you! His bedroom is by far my favorite room of the house. It was so fun designing an entire room from scratch. And I honestly really took my time to plan everything out before I ordered anything. There isn’t much I love more than decorating and I find it so helpful to have a good plan for the space before actually doing anything. So without further ado here is my youngest son’s bedroom.

Star & Moon Themed Nursery

When I was pregnant the first time I around I wanted to do a gender neutral nursery even though I knew I was having a boy. That was a mistake for me personally. It was for perfect when he was a little tiny baby. But as he grew into a toddler it was harder to make it more “boyish” for him. So I basically had to redo the entire room for him. This time around I wanted something that would grow with him but still had a clean, fresh look to it.

I went with a moon and stars themed nursery for him. My main color choices I picked were navy blue and grey. I spent many, many nights up all night singing Twinkle Twinkle Little Star in here so the theme turned out to be very appropriate lol The furniture is all from Restoration Hardware Baby & Child and is part of the Callum Collection. The crib converts into a toddler bed too which is great. I absolutely love the color and quality of the wood so I highly recommend their furniture. They have a regular bed as well so he will have this furniture set forever which is why I didn’t mind investing in it.

Finding wall art in general is so hard and finding wall art for a baby’s room that I loved was almost impossible. Then I happened to find these pictures for RH Baby & Child for behind his crib and they are perfect. They say ‘Dream Big Little One and ‘I Love You To The Moon and Back’. I love them so much I bought the other two with different saying for my older son’s room too. The light fixture is from there as well and I really like the industrial look it has.

Pretty much a bulk of the rest of the nursery decor in the room and the bedding are from Pottery Barn Kids. I am just obsessed with the moon shelf and stars above his dresser too. Originally I was going to do a wall decal, but I ultimately went with these because they just popped a little bit more and I am so glad that I did.

I am huge on having an organized house so his room is no different. I use a clear plastic canister to store all of his pacifiers on his dresser. This way I always have clean ones on hand. The closet in his room is pretty small so I had California Closets come and do it over so I can make the most of the space and have a built in hamper. It helps me so much to keep his clothes organized and I am able to see what I have. I have his clothes categorized by where they are hanging. I put his shoes on the shelves and use baskets to store things like hats and bathing suits. Having a custom closet in a small space like this is so helpful, I did it in my older son’s closet as well.

My advice if you are currently expecting is to plan out the room before hand. Think of your theme, like moon and stars baby, and a color scheme. Make a list of exactly what you need that way you know what you need to register for in terms of nursery items for your baby shower. Pinterest is your best friend for ideas and inspiration so create a board and start pinning.

I feel like this room has a nice clean look to it and he can really grow into it when he gets bigger. It can easily be done with neutral colors if you wan’t a unisex or gender neutral nursery. Or with pink and grey if you are having a little girl! I am linking everything I can for you below. Also the paint color is Sherwin Williams Grayish SW6001. I love it and think that it is the perfect grey!
