Cozy Sweatshirt and Black Joggers

Like most people I like to be as comfortable as possible as often as possible.  If I am home or running a few errands you will typically find me in leggings.  I wanted to try something different for the fall and was on the hunt for the perfect black joggers and I found them!

I love these from Sincerely Jules.  They are a nice thick material which is perfect for the fall and winter.  I also love the tie waist and zip pockets.  I do suggest sizing down though.  I originally got a Small, I thought they fit fine but as I wore them throughout the day they really loosened up and became very baggy.  I reordered an x-small and all though they seemed to fit a little snug around the knee area, once I wore them for a couple hours they became the perfect fit.

I paired them with this adorable camo sweatshirt (a big plus for the thumb holes).

Guide to Buying Hunter Boots

There can be a level of confusion when it comes to buying Hunter Boots.  There are always so many questions regarding size, style and fit.  With Fall almost here I thought it would be a great time to share my tips on buying Hunter boots.

  1. If in between sizes, size down.  Hunter boots only come in whole sizes, I am a solid 6.5 and got these in a 6 and they fit perfectly.  I even have room to wear the Welly socks with them.  However if I was a whole size I would order my true size.
  2. Decide if you want short or tall? I am 5’2″ and wearing the tall boots in the original gloss.  The shaft height is 14″ on the tall and 10″ on the short.  I do think I should of went with the short version since I am so petite, they would probably look a little better on me and not overwhelm my legs so much.
  3. Get the Kids version.  If you are wear a 7.5 or smaller you are one of the lucky ones who can buy the kids version and pay $80 instead of $148!  The shaft height is 12″ too so it’s the perfect cross between the tall and short.  The rule of thumb is to size down 2 sizes, so if you are a size 7 get a size 5 in kids.
  4. They aren’t a winter boot.  Hunter boots are for the spring and fall, they are a rain boot. They are not going to keep your feet warm but the socks do help a ton and I highly recommend getting them.
  5. Do you want glossy or matte finish?  I prefer the shiny glossy finish over the matte.  I think they just look better but I also like that they don’t bloom as much (get that white powdery substance which is completely normal for high quality rubber but could be an annoyance.)
  6. There are other versions that may suit your needs.  If you have a wide calf you can get the Huntress or the Adjustable Calf.    And if you travel often you may want to consider the Tour version since they roll up and will pack easily.
  7. Decide what color you want.  This is the funnest part.  Hunter boots come in so many colors. You can get a neutral that goes with everything or get a bright color to add a fun pop to your outfit.

I really love my Hunter’s, they are perfect to wear out in the elements.  If your running errands, taking the dog for a walk, or standing in a soaking wet field for one of your kids sporting events.  They look great and serve an even greater purpose!

4 Jeans You Need For Fall

Jeans are probably the #1 closet staple that everyone has because they are just such a versatile piece of clothing. Certain styles become trendy for a season while others fade out for awhile.  I never get rid of jeans because the style that has faded out will almost always come back again.  Below are 4 Jeans you need for Fall that you will be able to wear for years to come.

Dark, High Waisted

This style of jean would have to be my favorite,  I just love a dark jean for the fall, and the high waist is so flattering.  They hold you in and elongate my petite 5’2″ frame. Above I am wearing these from Paige but also love these from Express.  I usually pair it with a cropped, ribbed sweater but you can wear them with any top you want.  These have a skinny leg which is great to wear with a pair of over the knee boots too.

Distressed with a Frayed Hem

Distressed jeans and frayed hems are everywhere this year.  They are a great weekend, running around jean.  They can be edgy looking so I paired them with a girly, ruffle sleeve tee and a slip on sneaker to tone it down a bit.  These are SO comfortable and only $58!

Classic Skinny

If you invest in any jean let it be a classic skinny.  These from Rag & Bone are well worth the money. They feel like leggings and literally go with everything.  T-shirts while I take my son to the park, come home throw on a sweater so I can go to the office.  Heels, flats, boots, the possibilities are endless.  They are also a nice medium wash too so I can wear them all year long.

Black, Distressed

I have been wearing these from Express for 3 years now and love them for the fall and winter.  They can be dressed up or down and are a legging jean so they are just as comfy as they sound.  They really have held up well over the years too.

9 Closet Staples For Fall

There are some pieces that help you to easily transition your current wardrobe as the season’s begin to change.  Here is a list of my 9 staples that are must haves in your closet as we head into Fall.

#1 Leather Moto Jacket

This is the perfect layering piece because you can throw it over anything and it makes you look instantly put together.  Jeans and sweater, a shirt dress, even a t-shirt/hoodie and leggings.  I purchased this one last year and lived in it last fall.

#2 Booties

Booties with a block heal are easy to wear and so comfortable.  They are versatile and will go with almost anything you already have in your closet.

#3 Cardigan

A cardigan like this is the perfect piece that will carry your current summer wardrobe over into the fall.  Layer it over your favorite tank dress (like I did here) or camisole.  It’s cuteOK and will keep you cozy at the same time.

#4 High-Waisted Dark Denim

Dark denim screams fall to me.  I love wearing high-waisted, skinny ones because then I can pair them with any top whether it be a button down, t-shirt, or my favorite cropped sweater.  They also look great with a heel, flat, or an over the knee boot.

#5 Statement Bag

I am obsessed with handbags.  I just love them all. Louis Vuitton Neverfulls, Gucci crossbody’s, Chanel Totes.  I love them ALL.  I really do like Louis Vuitton because all of their prints are neutral’s and will go with just about any outfit.  They are also so classic, you will never regret buying it.

#6 The Perfect T-Shirt

I can’t even begin to describe the obsession I have with these t-shirt’s.  They are so soft and fit perfectly.  They are great with both jeans and leggings.  They wash well too and don’t shrink or lose their shape like other t-shirts I have purchased.

#7 Sunglasses

I have a legit obsession with sunglasses.  I tend to buy high end brands but picked these up over the summer and wow oh wow are they great.  They just look so good on. I can’t believe they are only $55.

#8 Plaid Button Down

I talked about this shirt a couples weeks ago on my blog but is there really anything that says fall more then plaid?  I don’t think so either.

#9 Leopard Scarf

A print scarf is a great way to add a pop of color and some details to a plain outfit.  I love this with just a plain v-neck sweater and jeans.
What is your favorite thing to wear in the fall? xo
