Beauty Items I’m Currently Coveting

Today I wanted to share some beauty items with you that I have heard rave reviews about and that are currently in my shopping bag.  Below are some of the items I am currently coveting.

Clinque Repairwear Intensive Lip Treatment  This treatment naturally boosts collagen production and helps keep lips moisturized and protected. Perfect for the winter.

Charlotte Tilbury Full Fat Lashes 5 Star Mascara  This is suppose to curl, separate, lengthen, and dramatize lashes in just one swoop.  I know I will need multiple coats but reviews say it doesn’t clump.

Tom Ford Ultimate Bronzer in Bronze Age.  This bronzer is suppose to be amazing.  Everyone says its the formula because it turns from powder to a creamy finish.  I can not wait to try,

Tom Ford Bronzer Brush 05 I don’t think I read one bad thing about this brush, I hear it is well worth the money and makes for a flawless application.

Charlotte Tilbury Hollywood Beauty Light Wand  This liquid highlights and contours at the same time, and who doesn’t love trying new highlighters?

Slip Silk Pillowcase This silk pillowcase claims to stop those pesky sleep lines from appearing on your face in the morning.  It also is suppose to save your blowout and not cause any damage to your hair.

Whats in your beauty wish list? xo

My 6 Go To Pink Lipsticks

My favorite lip color to wear is pink.  It goes with most makeup looks and it’s so easy to wear without ever looking harsh. I also find it to be the most flattering with my coloring.  Today I wanted to share my 6 go to colors shown above in the swatch from left to right.

  1. Chanel Rouge Coco Gloss 728 Rose Pulp
  2. MAC Pink Nouveau
  3. MAC Angel
  4. MAC Snob
  5. YSL Rouge Volupte Shine in 7 Lingerie Pink
  6. Georgio Armani Lip Maestro in 513 Drama Glow

Tom Ford’s Traceless Stick Foundation Review

I keep my makeup routine fairy similar (you can read about that here) But I love trying out new makeup so recently I purchased Tom Ford’s Traceless Stick Foundation and I have to tell you that I am OBSESSED.

I have never really been into stick foundations.  The one’s that I have tried in the past were always so heavy and thick.  They would just lay on top of my skin and muddy up after a few hours, I always ended up returning them.  So I didn’t have high hopes for Tom’s Fords but I was definitely wrong

The price tag is steep at $85 but I have to say I think it is totally worth it.  It is so easy to apply, I just swipe some product on my face and blend it with a damp beauty blender.  It literally melts right into my skin and give me such a flawless finish.  It’s matte without being dry.  It gives a good medium to full coverage and you can easily build it up in areas you may need a little more coverage in.  I also think the stick itself will last quite a long time since you don’t need a lot of product.

I will say you should go in the store to get matched.  I am pretty good at picking out my color online and I would of guessed for this I would of been a 6 Neutral.  However by going into Nordstrom’s and trying out some colors I was actually a 5.5 Bisque.  The 5.5 Bisque is darker then the 6 Neutral so know the color’s don’t necessarily go in order from light to dark.  Also just for reference I typically wear a a 6 in Georgio Armani Luminous Silk and a NC35 in MAC, my skin is pretty neutral with some yellow undertones.

Tom Ford’s Traceless Stick Foundation is definitely going to be my new go foundation.  In fact I have been using it every single day since I got it

Tatcha Water Cream Review

Recently I was running low on my Clinique Moisture Surge moisturizer so I decided to give the Tatcha Water Cream a try since I have been hearing such great things about it.

What They Say

Newly advanced, this moisturizer is a rich yet weightless gel cream that gives skin the look and feel of pure silk—soft, smooth and lustrous.

  • Provides nutrient-rich, balanced hydration
  • Unique water-burst cream breaks upon application to deeply deliver treatment benefits, hydrating without leaving skin sticky or greasy
  • Clarifies and refines skin with pure, powerful Japanese botanicals
  • Japanese Wild Rose visibly tightens pores and smoothes skin texture
  • Japanese Leopard Lily helps control excess oil and clarify skin by encouraging natural skin turnover
  • Delivers anti-aging Japanese superfoods
  • Hadasei-3, an anti-aging trinity of green tea, rice & algae, restores healthy-looking, youthful radiance
  • Imparts a subtle, shine-free glow with a touch of 23-karat gold

My Thoughts

It does exactly what it says and is super light weight.  It is much thinner then other gel moisturizers, instead of sitting on top of my skin like many feel like they do, it actually just melts into your skin.  It feels more like water then like gel, and isn’t even a little bit sticky.

It is also very moisturizing.  I was worried my skin would feel dry after it soaked into my skin but it still feels hydrated even at the end of the day, or when I wake up in the morning.  It also wears great under makeup.

It is the end of summer so we will have to see if it is just as hydrating in the dry, freezing winter.  My skin tends to be sensitive and this did not bother it at all.  In fact it feels very calming when applied.  It also has a very light scent and isn’t overwhelming.  It comes with a spatula too for sanitary purposes so you don’t have to dip your fingers into the jar.

I have been using it for a couple weeks now and do notice a different in the clarity of my skin and in my pores.  It is on the pricey side at $68 but so far I am very pleased and think it is money well spent.  Tatcha Water Cream is a great moisturizer.

Best Products To Brighten and Even Out Your Skin Tone

Something I have suffered with over the last few years is uneven skin tone.  I’m not sure if it’s old sun damage, getting older, or melasma from pregnancy hormones that has never gone away.  It’s not awful but bad enough for me to try every product under the sun to try to help it.  I need stuff that works, but is also gentle on my sometimes sensitive skin.  Below our some products that I use that I feel really help even out and brighten my skin tone.

SK II Facial Treatment Essence

The hype is real people.  This stuff feels like little drops of water but it packs a powerful punch.  Not only are my pores smaller but my skin is more even and the texture is so much better.  I stopped using it for a few weeks and immediately noticed a difference in my skin, and not for the better.

Tatcha Violet-C Radiance Mask
Tatcha Violet-C Radiance Mask

My skin glows after using this.  It is a creamy anti-aging mask—packed with Japanese beautyberry, two types of vitamin C, and AHAs from seven fruits—that unveils softer, glowing skin after just using it once.

Glamglow Flashmud Brightening Treatment - 50G/1.7Oz

Glamglow Flashmud Brightening Treatment

This is another favorite mask of mine.  I actually really love using this this time of year heading into the fall because I feel like it really undoes any damage I may have done by being out in the sun all summer.  It uses 3 different levels of exfoliation so your skin is seriously clear and even after using this.

Dr. Dennis Gross Daily Peel

I used these years ago and completely forgot about them.  I recently reordered and realized I have really been missing out. These are gentle enough to use daily if you wanted to and they use exfoliating Alpha and Beta Hydroxy Acids. It’s a two-step process that rejuvenates the skin and keeps your complexion balanced, smooth and radiant.

Amara Organics Vitamin C Serum for Face
This stuff has Hyaluronic Acid & Vitamin E and Vitamin C. It helps stimulate collagen, reduce wrinkles, brighten skin, fades age spots, and evens skin tone.  It’s so affordable too.

Main Image - Kate Somerville® ExfoliKate® Intensive Exfoliating Treatment

Kate Somerville Exfolikate Intensive Exfoliating Treatment

Exfoliating is one of the best ways to even out your skin. This is a dual-action exfoliator that smooths and polishes skin to reveal a glowing, radiant complexion after just one use. It uses lactic acid and fruit enzymes (papaya, pineapple and pumpkin).  It’s gentle but you can notice a difference in one use.

Peter Thomas Roth Camu Camu Power C x 30

The amazonian Camu Camu berry has 30 times the vitamin C of an orange. This highly concentrated vitamin C has superior absorption properties due to its low molecular weight allowing it to better penetrate the skin.

Karuna Brightening+ Mask (Single) - The Mask Bar - 505062461

Karuna Brightening Face Mask

I noticed a difference as soon as I took this mask off. Your skin will illuminate because of the grapefruit seed extract, rare Asian plant extracts and salicylic acid.  And who doesn’t love an affordable face mask?
